This is pretty amazing isn't it?

So... I've been rather busy in my own little ways. It's not like I've stayed cooped up at home, but I don't really have much to write about the times I've gone out and I'm way too immersed in my "personal projects" to write anything properly at the moment.

Though I have a FFT topic in mind! Alright shall write about that then, enjoy the video in the mean time.

City Harvest Church incident

So if you didn't know yet, City Harvest Church founder has been arrested for laundering money from the church, at least 23 million.

I never believe in religion of any sort anyway, so well, I won't really say anything much about this, it's just kind of the "I told you so" feeling that I get.

The interesting part about the news to me, isn't about the laundering and financing some woman's music career. But the way the news phrased their words. They used the word Allegedly countless of times.

I'm no English expert, but I have never used allegedly before, never. Not in my blogs, not when talking to my friends or any other places. I find it to be a very vague word. Also, I didn't quite fully understand the meaning of that word. The obvious action to take is to Google it of course.


That is totally not helpful at all. So I searched Alleged.



Then I thought about it.

Is the news saying that, they think that he did all that money business, but they don't have concrete proof of it? In that case, they are just accusing him of doing shit throughout without proper evidence and that the judge hasn't ruled anything yet.

I'm not defending him or anything, I have little to no faith in humanity. When given a chance to fuck up, you be damn sure a human will.

I'm just rather unhappy with the way the news reported this incident. They could have used simpler words like supposedly, or suspected, or has large amounts of evidence pointing to. Rather than just using the word allegedly. I mean, even I have to Google that shit to make sure I wasn't imagining the wrong meaning. What's to say that other people will understand what the statement truly meant?

Most people would probably take it as
"Man cheats money, arrested."

Oh well. Fuck the social media.

There's a difference for words that mean the same thing

I was just thinking about this.

There are many words that describe the same thing. (nouns) Even though they mean the same, I've always felt that one will always be the "higher form", making it seem more exquisite.

For example,
Compare between the differences between Movie and Film.
To me, it's very obvious that film is a "higher form". Like, you would call Phantom of the Opera a film, rather than a movie, and musicals are usually called a film. Which is also why you don't hear people say "classic movies" often, but "classic film" is used.
(note: Disney films, Disney movies sound weird)

I've always felt that Anime is a higher form than Cartoon.
Though, technically they kind of mean different things. But they are basically animated characters. However, there are many different types of animations. So the line is kind of blurred.

Basically you have cartoons like Ben 10, Kim impossible, Powerpuff Girls, Spongebob square pants, Hey Arnold, etc. Those belong to the same family.
Then you have cartoons like, The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc, which are still cartoons, but belong to a different class.
Then you have Disney 3D animations like, Despicable Me, UP, Toy Story, Madagascar, etc. Which again is in a different class of cartoons.
Then you have Anime, which is a completely different kind of art form, with it's origins rooted deeply in Japan.
Then you have DC, Marvel comics which has been animated as cartoons. Like Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Justice League, Avengers, etc.
In my opinion, the ultimate class of animated films is all the Disney classics, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Aladdin, Sinbad, Mulan, etc. Sometimes I think it's just a matter of personal preference, but classic Disney films will always have a special place in my heart.

Which is why, I feel insulted when people call Anime a Cartoon. It's not. It's an anime.
Similarly, I would feel insulted if someone called Lion King an anime, I will slap his face.

Other examples will be like,
Dish vs Cuisine
Drawing vs Design
Drink vs Beverage
Shit vs Stool
etc.

Well, it's just a random thought that hit me in the head. I think it's important that we choose our words wisely.
