FFT: Maybe we only have a limited amount of happiness

Because I've been rather happy these couple of days, my retarded mind starts to wonder if there's such thing as limited happiness. That you can only experience that much in your life time, before you get insensitized by it or something.
Think about it as how happiness is rather relative. Like, bread for a starving man, bread for a thirsty man, or maybe desserts after dinner. It's like varying levels of happiness but it's only relative to what you've experienced before. Which reminds me of this quote I saw recently.
The richer you are,
The more expensive happiness is.
