I have a Diploma in Computer Engineering
Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Lo and behold, the Lord has finally received certification that he is prepared for work, somewhat.

Even though I don't really think much of it, it is my proudest achievement so far that is visible on paper. 3 years have passed and I finally graduated from Singapore Polytechnic; even though I wasn't really filled with nostalgia as I walked through the corridors, there is a certain sense of lingering regret when another chapter in my life reached its final page.

Graduation makes me feel old, like a real proper adult. It's that moment when you realize, "Fuck, I have the ability to go out and properly work now."

It's kinda cute, I suppose

Of course, school life will continue as I plan to continue my studies in college, but it's something rather far off in the future and it is not set in stone yet, I'll have to apply next year and hopefully get a place with my half-decent results.

My plans for the future? Try to survive.

Singapore has something called National Service that mandates all males serve in the army once they are 18 and above. (though I think 16+ is enough? not very sure) And it takes up 2 years. I'm not too keen about it obviously, but there are somethings in life that you cannot control, this is one of them. The most annoying part is that I am going to be stuck on an island for 3 weeks, which pretty much guarantees the death of the geek inside me.

So anyway, back to my graduation, first of all, I wasn't really interested in attending the ceremony, because it's really long and rather pointless since I don't really care all that much. Meeting back my classmates is kind of... uneventful to say the least.

Here's the thing, and I'm not trying to diss on my poly friends, but it's different with you guys. I like all of you and I had fun but it doesn't feel like we're in the same world. Or maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the odd one out and everyone else are like sticky butt cheeks, inseparable and always warming each other up.

Man, this post is getting depressing even though it's a happy occasion. I guess that's what happens when I try writing when I'm really tired.

So there are millions of different thoughts racing through my head that doesn't really make sense written down here. I really need to turn on my other LOG and start ranting the hell out there. Okay enough ranting, I need some sleep.

p.s been kinda busy somehow. This is kind of a downer for a graduation post but well you know, sometimes if you don't feel it, you don't write it.

Another chapter in life is closed
Thursday, February 28, 2013

It has finally ended!

I just completed my final paper of my Poly years. Schooling is officially over for me, until I somehow get into a university that is. I can't believe that 3 years just flew past like that. But looking back at the heaps of worksheets and textbooks strewn all over the floor, I could definitely see the 3 years in them.

It's a shame that we didn't celebrate the end of exams. Not in the way that I envisioned anyway. We're going to have a japanese buffet tomorrow at Kiseki. The delayed celebration is a little bit of a bummer, but at least we're gonna do it anyway!

However, I went to play basketball with my AHS mates yesterday. Which is kind of an interesting way to end my poly life. Like how I started without them, but ended with them kinda thing. Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not that sentimental, I just found it to be an interesting thought.

Of course, there'll be that obligatory post about the journey I had over the course of 3 years, but that'll have to wait until my official graduation.

Because well,
I'll officially become an Engineer.

Computer Engineer to be exact, just a diploma though. I'm interested in getting a cert in Computer Science, but that 2 fucking years of national service is a real downer.

Well whatever, I'm not going to think about the future just yet. I have 2 years of thinking time. In the mean time, I really need to find some job that is worthy of being in my resume. I wonder if I could find any small-medium company that would hire me as a network manager/assistant.

It feels like I'm finally stepping out into the world, right outside of my comfort zone. And truthfully, it scares the bananas outta me. But there's also a part of me that's rather excited for it.

Ah whatever, it's such a pain to grow up.

Daily Photo #99 - SP graduation
Friday, May 25, 2012

I realized it has been a really long time since I did my daily photos. Apparently it's graduation day for my seniors. Which is kind of sad that I don't really have any one that I would visit/cheer for.

My exams starts next week. Let's hope my life gets more interesting when it's over.

Daily Photo #53 - Looking out of SP
Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Taken with my phone.

I should really bring my camera out more often. But there really isn't much to take of when I'm in school. Oh yeah, something I forgot to mention in my previous post. I'm on schedule for my projects, for the first time. Pretty much done with everything except 2. The 2 hardest ones. But well, everything seems to be falling into place.

It's regrettable that I don't have time to watch animes. OR download them. Mainly due to the limited amount of space in my laptop. Oh well, I shall make it a point to download all the ones I've missed over the weekends.

Oh, tried doing a sunjar thingy with J, didn't quite work out the way we visualized it to be. So we have a challenge to see who will make a better one. I'll post a pic of whatever the hell it is when I'm done with it. Hmm, today's posts are kinda boring, oh well, better ones tomorrow.

Ciaos my minions~

Daily Photo #50 - SP Auditorium
Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Nothing in particular. I just thought that it looked nice.

And it does, doesn't it?

Well they recently renovated it, so it's no wonder. There isn't much I have to say about because I'm learning how to schedule my posts and see how it goes. Daily Photo #49 was actually scheduled the day before to be posted.. yesterday, since you'll only be reading this today. (or tomorrow from my perspective)

I guess that's it, come to SP for those who just got their O level results! Suffer with us.
See you around my minions!

Daily Photo #24 - Hanging photos
Saturday, November 26, 2011

Love the idea

Again, this is taken with my S2. I think it turned out pretty well.

It's currently being displayed at the library near Colours. Or near T4 if you're more familiar with blocks. At the first floor connector to Colours. So yeah, do take a look cause I think it looks gorgeous.

I really love the idea of hanging photos. And they pulled it off splendidly. Sadly though, I did not take more pictures as I was kind of on the way home and just happen to see it.

Again, the writer part of my seems to be asleep. Writer's block? Let's hope this drought will end soon.
