Today is the last day of 2012.

Very strangely, it fills me with sadness and a weird sense of unwillingness. What changed? I remember when I was a very young chap, each new year brings me a great sense of hope and adventure.

Am I getting old? I'm supposedly in my primes and yet I feel rusted. Maybe because I haven't accomplished anything of significance this year. I probably won't look back and go, "2012 is the year where I did this!"

Of course, there probably aren't many years in your life that you will vividly remember, though mine is short in itself. To make things better, I will write things that I have accomplished that made me proud of myself in 2012. So when I read back next time, I will feel like I have led a fulfilling life.

1. I wrote a post that got me more than a thousand views. In fact, on the day of writing, I hit 1,764, 2nd day 2,597, 3rd day 1,506, 4th day 1,257. Where it finally drops and slowly flattens out to my normal traffic again. Getting views of well over 7k views in the span of 4 days is definitely a perk for me.

I absolutely love this video. 


"We always tell ourselves to look and move forward; isn't there something that we have lost in the past?"

After a long time, I'm finally starting to read back on my very old blog posts. I found out that in my first couple months of writing, I wrote like shit. My English didn't make sense and the sentence structure is all over the place.

Anyway, I found something that is consistent with my old writings. (at least the first few months that I've read) That is, they sounded happy. They are filled with energy and vibrance. Even so, I was going through some tough situations in life couple of years ago. I saw that I kept my head up high, and continued moving through the buckets of shit.

It's these times when I can actually look back in time, reading the words that I carefully crafted years ago. It brings warmth to my heart.  It feels like I'm having a conversation with my younger self.

Recently, I seem to have lost the passion for skating. Slalom to be exact, I still love to skate around randomly. The feeling of being on wheels is hard to explain unless you've experienced it for yourself.

Years ago, I wrote that I fell down very badly after attempting a trick. Couldn't walk properly for days after that. That's interesting to me. It's like, I can actually see how I got to my current level of skating. It made me rethink about taking slalom more seriously. In fact, I probably would spend a little more time on it, since I could really use a good workout from time to time.

This is what I felt watching this video. That I have lost passion for things I used to love very deeply.

We keep trying to move forward, letting go and discarding things that anchor us down. Once in awhile, we should look back and see, was there something important we lost along the way?
Your passion for music, playing games, eating or collecting items? Or your childhood dreams of becoming a pilot and soar in the sky? Or your first love even?

This may seem counter-intuitive, but maybe we need an anchor to hold us down, and let us know where we belong in this huge empty world. We can keep moving forward, but it's nice to have a place you can call home.

My brother found out that there's not enough space in his cupboard, so he started to take things out to clear some space. He realized that he had years of phone boxes stored inside. So I decided to take out my collection as well, so that we can take a nice phone family picture then throw them away, except the newer ones of course.

Technically a Galaxy Tab is not a phone. But oh well, it's a mobile device so whatever.

Then I made a tower with it.

Welcome to my secondary school's canteen. It mostly didn't change except for 2 new round tables which... I guess are for the cool kids.

So why were we there?


Yeah because we were broke and food is cheap there. Also, the weak security made it that much easier. I didn't take many pictures because well, I'll be a creeper if I did. Thankfully we went on a day where there was practically no one there.

Well, my friends were swimming before that. I did not, because.. I had school. DAMN. I did take a nice shot and it'll be a waste not to post it.

 So on to the food portion.

Chicken rice with a lot of extra. $2

Well, all of us ate 2 meals because we missed the food there so much! (yeah I was too engrossed in eating I forgot to take a picture of the rest of the food)

They also gave us extra because surprisingly, they still remember us somehow even though we graduated 3 years ago. I guess going to a store non-stop every single day does get them to remember you. Especially if you add in the random conversations we had with them during the times when they had nothing to do.

Well, those conversations usually take place after late after school. Sometimes when we sneak down to buy good. And sometimes when we skipped classes. You know. Cause we're cool like that.

So yeah, it was a really fun experience. Something that won't be possible anymore since all my friends are going to army soon.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Of course I didn't go school today.Why would anyone? Oh wait, A levels. Hah! Suckers~ But yeah, I didn't wanna go school on such a nice day. I wanted to go at first, but then, the magical moment of today wouldn't come for another hundred years. I.. don't really think I'll live that long.

The thing is, I'm a geek. When I see such a number obviously I'll think of binary, and when you convert it,

You get 4095.
(to be exact it's 4096, cause you need to include the 0)

Which means, I get to make 4096 wishes. Yeah that's a lot. But if you think that, that's all you're going to get for the next 100 years! That seems pitifully small. Let's see, you get to make a wish every 8 days. Oh, okay that seems pretty great. (if it comes true, that is)

Now the thing is, I know that it's just bullshit, but for the sake of it, I'll make 5 wishes right now.

Why?!

So that god, you have a choice to choose which one you want to grant me. It's kinda sad that everyone is throwing ridiculous wishes at you. So I'll wish for some really hard ones, and some really simple ones, so if you really exist, make the hard ones come true, heck, make ALL of it come true. So here goes.

I wish that:
1. The climate crisis could be solved
2. Everyone will become kinder
3. I can make more money than I can spend
4. Space travel will come true in my live time
5. The perfect one will come sooner than later

OKAY NOW I'M TIMING FOR THE PERFECT MOMENT.

I think that it's really interesting statistically to see how humans have proliferated on earth in such a short amount of time. It's.. pretty darn amazing if you ask me.

I also really like how they presented it. Oh well, I should probably do some studying on design so that my next presentation would be really awesome.

Housekeeping matters, failed to do daily photo yesterday because I was just... too tired to write anything. Was pretty much a goner when I reached home. I did, however, take a picture yesterday and I shall post two today. Just to make up for it. Though... I didn't take any today and I'm wondering what I should do =/

[Apple]

As many of you have known, Steve Jobs have passed away on the October 5th 2011, due to pancreatic cancer. 

I may have not have owned any Apple products over the years, and I don't particularly like the iPhone. But, I have always respected Steve Jobs who have revolutionized the tech industry. When news of his demise swarmed the internet, I felt a part of me just wither away.
